 Metal Letters Installation Methods

Stud Mount: Installation patterns are used with stud installations. They are included in the price. Patterns indicate with little dots • • • where to drill (best into mortar joints, hammer drill preferred) your holes on the mounting surface. Studs supplied & attached to letter back. Insert studded letters into holes you've drilled, using silicone to secure.

Materials & tools may include: Letters, Installation Template or Spacing Tape, Turkey Baster, Bolt Cutters, Wrench, Studs, Nuts & Washers (or pads), Shims, Masking Tape, Silicone Adhesive, Drill & Bits, Safety Glasses, Brush, Level & Ladder.

Flush Mount Set in silicone adhesive cement. There is no space between the letter and the surface. Simply drill holes where marked on full size mounting pattern (available separately) and set the letters in the holes with silicone.
Projected Jam Nut Mount Studs Set in silicone adhesive cement. Stainless steel jam nuts are inserted between the letter and the mounting surface. Makes an adjustable standoff without spacers. Also use for uneven surfaces.
Spacer Mount Set in silicone adhesive cement. Pre-cut spacers are inserted between the letter and the mounting surface. Specify standoff required not spacer length. Standard spacer lengths are 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1".
Corrugated Nut Mount Adjustable mount for where you have access to the rear of the wall. Washers and nuts are used on both sides of studs.
Flat Metal Wall Mount Adjustable mount where you have access to the rear of the wall. Washers and nuts are used on both sides of studs.
Double Rail Installation Two rows of 1/4" thick x 3/4" tall aluminum bars are secured to letter back with stainless screws. Bar is standard with baked enamel finish. Anodized Rails additional. Available on letters 4" to 24" high. Extra shipping cost may apply due to rail length.

$20/letter; anodized rails, $25 each.

     SINGLE BAR MOUNT:

   NOT SHOWN:

   Same as Double-Bar

Mount Above.

Single Back Bar Letters are pre-mounted in factory to an aluminum bar. For letters 6" in cap height +, we recommend using a double bar mount. Letters under 6", single bar mount. Bars are generally painted to match background of mounting surface.
Available on letters 4" to 24" high. $20/letter; anodized rails, $25.

Back Bar mount is effective on irregular wall surface, like corrugated steel fascia on prefab metal buildings.

Installation: Mount back bars directly to the wall surface through the holes drilled into the bars. Type of fastener depends upon wall construction. Generally: Machine screws & sheet metal screws work well.

Bottom Rail Installation Letters drilled and tapped from bottom with stainless steel studs through aluminum tubing. Tube is standard with black baked enamel finish. Available on letters 4" to 24" high; 3/8" or thicker. $17.00 per letter, in addition to the letter cost itself. Ships unassembled.
Bottom Stud Installation Letters drilled and tapped from bottom. Customer provides own bar or channel for mounting. $10.00 per letter. Letters with round bottoms (ie. O,S,G etc) have a flattened base to receive studs. Exterior applications greater than 8" letters require tiebacks. Minimum letter thickness: 3/8".
